RARE ANTIQUE METAL NAVAL BUTTON UNKNOWN COUNTRY. This Wonderful Old Antique Naval Button belonged to my Late Dear Mother, and is from Mama's Large Button Collection she left to me 40 years ago. The Button has a 1/2" Diameter and a Metal Wire Hoop Back. The Front is a Gold or Brass Knight, with a Knights Helmet and Star on Top. He's holding a Shield Marked with a Naval Anchor, Sword, Battle Axe, and a Lance, Staff, or Spear. I'm NOT certain if it's Metal is Brass, or possibly Real Gold. I have spent hours trying to research Old Antique Military Buttons to Mid Evil Naval Buttons, without any success matching mine with another like it. I'm quite certain the Button is at least Antique, but I can't pinpoint the Century it was used, or by what Country. It certainly appears that in whatever Era it was made, someone put some real effort in the Details of the Gold Piece. All of my photos were taken with my cameras macro lens, to get the Very Best up close focused photos possible. Please bear in mind my photos are ALL quite magnified in detail. To best preserve this Antiquated Button I have sprayed both sides with Clenzoil Lubricant, and dried the Lubricant to the touch using heat from a Blow Dryer. Clenzoil is safe Lubricant on any type of Metal, Wood, or Plastic Surfaces. Hopefully someone out there that's more knowledgeable in Old Antique Military Buttons then myself, will be able to better identify this Old Creature. I believe this Button is of Military Origin, Quite Old, a Rare Find, and Would Make a Wonderful Addition to Anyone Collecting Rare and/or Old Military Buttons.
