This rare brass bridle button or rosette, features a handsome beehive design. Made in an unknown British brass foundry and cast in shinny golden hue, this period Victorian piece dates back to about 1880 and has it’s registry mark on it’s underside. These brass fittings added an aura of elegance to any horse’s bridle. This piece shows signs of Years of use; the brass wire strap has bent and the rosette has conformed to the pressure of the pull of the horse’s muscles. These are features of an object associated with work for more the a century and a quarter. Condition, wear commensurate with its age. Please check out all the photos. 2.5” Diameter 1.5” High
