Description

**COLD WATER ARMY. A temperance organization for juniors. To date, several pledge cards have been found, and two or three different buttons. The one-piece buttons are vest size. The date when the organization was formed is not definitely known, or when it was discontinued, but the dates on the pledge cards indicate it was active in the 1840's.Some collectors of campaign buttons include these buttons as representing the beginning of the Temperance Political Party. No data have been found to substantiate this belief.
